That and making marks and getting my energy out of my system. Very selfish of me, I know. But in the physical process of making marks on paper and canvas I have found that it is the space in between things and the energy that resides in that space that fascinates me to no end and gives my work meaning. My fascination as to how objects co-exist in a particular space leads me to question: What path led them to parallel or entwine each other, to interact, for that particular moment in time? Where did they head off to when they parted ways? How does the abstraction of my work translate to human relationships? My work creates queries rather than responses. My work invites the viewer to contemplate the mysteries and meanings of the universe. < ... more > |
